Here, we used a spacious paid parking lot conveniently located right by the beach. This parking area also welcomes vans, fostering dreams of waking up beachside for early morning session. The beach offers a long expanse of pebbles, providing ample room for surfers to set up their gear. If your family prefers tranquility and additional space, a brief two-minute stroll grants access to several smaller beaches nearby.

Typically, during strong Pelèr conditions, wing sizes hover around 3.5-4, while a more moderate Pelèr calls for a 5-meter wing. However, gear selection hinges on individual proficiency and wing type. Beginners, beware: Malcesine’s formidable waves and potent winds may pose challenges, unless you opt to wait out the gusts.

Extended wind periods, stretching past the usual morning hours, often lead to a leisurely lunch in Malcesine’s charming village. Our family’s go-to spot is the Osteria alla Rosa, known for its welcoming ambiance and delectable cuisine. It features a convenient paid parking lot, though overnight stays are not permitted, unlike the Malcesine spot. Due to its popularity, the parking lot fills up quickly, as it’s an excellent surfing starting point. Unlike the other Torbole beaches, which are sheltered, this spot offers favorable conditions for wind sports.
A well-equipped rental center, along with a café and a spacious lawn are available here.

During peak season, the area can get crowded, limiting space for children to play freely amidst the surf equipment. In such cases, taking a 20-minute walk to Torbole center might be a worthwhile option.
However, this spot is ideal for family outings during weekdays or in the low season, offering plenty of shade from trees. For those reasons, it’s a highly recommended spot for wind sports enthusiasts and families alike, providing both convenience and comfort.

3. Torbole Surf Segnana Beach: Family Fun in the Heart of the Village

This beach comes highly recommended for a fantastic family wind day, offering a spacious lawn and nearby smaller beaches for swimming.

You’ll find amenities such as a restaurant, restrooms, and even a playground within easy reach with a short walk. Positioned in the Torbole village center, it boasts all the conveniences like shops and cafes, though parking can be limited. Typically, we unload our equipment upon arrival, and while Dad hunts for a parking spot, he returns on his longboard.
Since shade options are limited, we bring along our tent and beach umbrella to stay cool.

Moreover, this beach features a welll equipped rental center. One of its two possible starting points is more sheltered from the wind, making it beginner-friendly. As a novice wing foiler myself, I particularly appreciate feeling secure here.

The conditions are not as challenging as those with the Pelèr wind in Malcesine, which makes it an ideal spot for those seeking a more manageable experience.

If you relish gliding over calm waters, this spot is tailor-made for you and your family’s enjoyment.

Complete with a café, a small rental center, and a sprawling lawn dotted with ample shade, plus a cozy playground, it’s an idyllic setting. Despite being less renowned than Lake Garda, it’s typically less crowded, offering a more serene atmosphere.

Since parking at this beach is primarily reserved for equipment renters, you’d better arrive early, unload your gear, and then seek out nearby free parking.

Situated further north, this lake tends to sustain winds longer than Torbole, albeit with less intensity, fostering a more leisurely pace. With the lake’s smaller size providing a sense of security, it’s an excellent place to experiment with larger wings and hone your skills or try out new tricks.

However, don’t anticipate warmer waters—being smaller, the lake often maintains temperatures as cold as Lake Garda. Our fondness for this spot particularly blossoms in the afternoons, where we linger until sunset, sometimes even indulging in dinner by the beach. It’s undoubtedly our top pick for unwinding and soaking in the tranquility.
