Our Windsurfing Roots: Inspired by Dad

My dad loved wind sports, and that’s how our family’s windsurfing journey started. His passion was contagious. His stories, the characteristic sounds of the sport, and the profound sense of freedom he experienced made us want to try it too.

For our initial trials, we used his old equipment – those incredibly long boards and vintage sails. I vividly remember our first attempts on Lake Caldonazzo, battling the northern winds, which often resulted in us walking back to shore. Despite the challenges, we discovered a genuine love for the sport and invested in more suitable equipment, leading to windsurfing trips to Sardinia and Lanzarote.

From Windsurfing to Wingfoiling: A New Level of Freedom

Some years ago, the excitement of wingfoiling caught our attention. We acquired some used gear and decided to give it a try.

Initially, it was challenging, especially as we struggled to break free from windsurfing habits. However, once we experienced the thrill of flying, windsurfing took a backseat. Why? Simply put, if windsurfing offers freedom, wingfoiling provides an exponential increase in that feeling. Beyond the pure joy and exhilaration, the ease of transport is a significant advantage for a family.

Wingfoiling: Perfect for Family Fun

Wingfoiling is ideal for family time, allowing parents to alternate between riding and engaging with their children.

Through our explorations, we’ve discovered fantastic spots ideal for children to play and become comfortable with the wind. We always bring kites and other toys to enhance the fun, and water is, of course, a natural playground for kids of all ages.
